22 weeks

The only thing new is that I felt Rae kick me! From the outside. Granted I had to push on my belly, but she's definitely in there! :) We put up her wall stickers this weekend. They are very cute! Her pack-n-play is up too for a temporary crib. It might end up being her permanent one, we'll see. Her room is starting to take shape though and I'm excited about that! My mom called me earlier this week and told me they were shopping at "Once upon a child" and got her about 20 outfits for cheap! Her closet will be full!
This is the last full week before school starts. I'm ready to get back into the swing of things and get my school year started. It will go by quickly, therefore the quicker I get to see our daughter! I'm hoping we can get in our building August 5th and work all weekend on bringing stuff back in and unpacking. Ryan's going to help me with getting my room back together since I shouldn't lift anything. So, since this is my last full week, I'm relaxing, finishing a book, and finishing Rae's toy box. We're going to a friends house for dinner and I'm going to a friends house for lunch one day this week. Just a little bit of time out of the house. Trying to save the gas so we can go home this weekend!

I hope everyone stays cool this week. I know I can't wait for the heat to let up... It's driving me crazy!!

21 weeks

Not much going on this week. No class, no appointments, nothing! I will probably be working on Rae's toy box to paint it to look like her dresser. We went this weekend to Home Depot and got a closet system. Hopefully we'll put those in this week. We have to empty her closet first; although there isn't much.
Still not feeling much movemement; however, I think she knows when the computer is sitting on my lap because she starts wiggling! Feeling pretty good overall.  I got her first cloth diapers last week! They are peach, and soft on the outside. I was surprised that they weren't slick on the outside! They are going to be so cute on her!
Hope all remain cool! It's going to be a hot week!

HALF WAY!!!! 20 weeks!

I can't believe I'm half way to seeing my Chicken Little!! Only another 20 weeks (hopefully a few less)!! I often find myself thinking about our little girl growing inside me and get so excited! I can't wait to meet her! At my last doctors appointment, Friday, July 8, the doctor said things were going well. She had the results from the ultra sound and said she had everything necessary for continued healthy growth. Rae is in the 31st percentile, which means she is bigger than 31% of all babies at her age. Her heartbeat was about 145 and again she kept rolling away from the Doppler. I sure do wish I could feel her being wiggly...
This week I'm finishing up my graduate work and working on my garden. I'm putting up green beans sometime this week, probably tomorrow. Since I don't have all of the canning experience my mom does, I'm just going to blanch and freeze them. I'm also trying to get rid of some cucumbers. It is so nice to have my own garden and be able to pass on the veggies, I also don't want to throw any of it away...
I'm also working on painting Rae's dresser. The blue is very pretty! I can't wait to put the polka dots on! Unfortunately the knobs are glued on...yuck! But the first coat is on and the second will go on today sometime. I have to work on the polka dots and how to go about putting those on...
We finished registering at Walmart and Target this weekend! I can't wait to get her room set up! We're ordering some stickers for the walls.

Have a great week!

19 weeks

This is the last week of having to drive to class!!! I will certainly be glad it is over and get on to enjoying my summer!
Last weekend was pretty interesting. I think I did pretty good with being in a car for 26+ hours and over 1500 miles. We were certainly glad to be home! The reunion was great as usual, and I am still getting to know family members and who they belong to. We purchased pictures of Ryan's father and grandfather at the auction. I am excited to start a family wall or scrapbook of pictures for Raelynn and future babies to look at. I want my children to get to know all of their grandparents.  Everyone was excited to know it was a girl and talked about spoiling her from day one!
This week, I've been feeling our Chicken Little a bit more. I haven't been feeling specific kicks, but quite a bit of movement which is an AMAZING feeling! I wish Ryan could feel it from the outside. :( I have been feeling pretty good; however, I seem more tired this week. My allergies are acting up too, but I still haven't sneezed and peed yet. :) I know its coming. Bending over is getting harder; I'm having a difficult time getting my leg up to put my shoes and socks on and also am having a hard time bending over to tie them. My appetite has kind of changed. I'm hungry, but can't find anything that looks good. I've also noticed my texture tolerance has changed. Last night we had shrimp, corn, rice, and broccoli, and I had a difficult time eating the shrimp and corn due to the texture. My gag reflex is still very high as well. Bandit got sick twice on Tuesday and I had a hard time picking it up. I also have a hard time brushing my teeth.
While we were at the family reunion, Jaci told me she used Head and Shoulders with Selenium Sulfide in it for her cystic acne and acne in general. She said she also uses it now while she is struggling with cancer. I use the normal Head and Shoulders on Monday and Tuesday and noticed my acne drying out! I used the Selenium Sulfide Head and Shoulders today and haven't noticed a big difference. I am hoping it will work some and I won't look like I have the chicken pox when I go back to school! :)
I bought Raelynn her first girl onsies yesterday!!! I hadn't been to the store since we found out, and I should steer clear of the baby section! I can't wait for the winter things to come out so I can start purchasing her some things for when she's born. I know I should be buying her some of the summer stuff for next year while its on sale and I'm sure I will. I just want to buy for her so she can wear it now!!!
We're going to look for Ryan a new truck tonight, so I shall go.

Love,
Jessica, Ryan and Raelynn!

Week 18 and Its a.........

This week we got to find out what our Chicken Little is....and its a GIRL!!!!! The ultrasound revealed she was healthy and VERY wiggly! Unfortunately my placenta is on the top instead of on the bottom, which is no big deal, which creates a pillow and so I can't feel her moving as much as she is moving. She weights 8 ounces. Things could not be better with our little girl!!! They remind you to drink about 32 ounces of water so your bladder is full. Well when I got in the waiting room, I was jumping at every bump and wiggle because I REALLY had to pee! When we got in the room, it was difficult to lay down and as soon as she put the wand on my belly and looked at my bladder, she said it was WAY too full! What a releif when I got to empty it. When we were almost done with the ultrasound, she said my bladder was already filling up. She couldn't check to see if there were 10 toes because our Chicken Little was digging her toes into my bladder.

We have decided though she isn't going to have ALL pink stuff. We're painting her dresser a darker blue with orange poka dots and when I was looking at bedding I found a really cute, bright colored, circle bedding set.

This week has been long. My classes are almost over and I can't wait! I've been feeling good except for being hungry! I haven't been sleeping very well and I can't decide if it is because I've been coming home and working and then taking a nap, or because my back hurts. So yesterday I didn't nap until about 7 and only napped for about a half hour. Then Ryan and I went for a walk about 8. I slept MUCH better last night! I saw the first stretch marks this morning... So I'll have to apply loation liberally from here on out.

Today we are getting ready to go to Michigan to the annual Thomas Family Reunion. I am very excited to get out of town and see Ryan's family! I always have a good time at the reunion and spending time with his family. Plus, on this trip, I'll be able to say I have been to a new state! I'm not so sure I will enjoy 24 total hours in the car though... 6 hours tonight, 6 hours on Saturday, 9 hours on Sunday, and another 3 hours on Monday. I sure am glad we have Monday off!

I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!!!
